While not a great year for any company serving the home building industry, we concluded there were no excuses not to support some charities and community projects.     Owner John Bringenberg peddled his 6th Courage Classic fund raiser for Children’s Hospital this summer … grinding out the uphill miles from Leadville to Vail, to Copper, throughout Summit County, then back to Leadville over 3 days.  We also support the Alzheimer's Memory Walk and the John and Anna Sie Foundation’s fight to treat Down Syndrome.  back to top

Theater in a Box—but the Box is your Basement!

When thinking about HDTV for any room in your house …  your family room, master or a finished basement, it is time to mind your “p’s” and “I’s”.   One of the most popular and fulfilling additions to your home might be a finished basement.   There are many fine companies who specialize in these projects and can make your budgeting and expectations realistic.
And when you are considering your needs for a basement redu, this is an excellent place to add theater and A/V technology to your home.
One of the most dramatic developments in television and HDTV technology is in projector systems.  Pricing has fallen dramatically while quality keeps rising.     So now for the relative cost of a 58” or so flat panel TV, you can get a 93“- 103” projector system with eye popping brightness, color and clarity.   HomeTalk’s designers can work with you to be sure you get great value for your budget and also make sure your room layout, size and arrangement is the best it can be.  Here are some things to consider:

One of the most critical and overlooked aspects of these renovations is taking advantage of whole house a/v, security, or other systems before sheetrock goes up in the basement.  Give us a call so we can get excited about your project with you!  back to top

One DVR, Pay TV, BluRay, Available Throughout Your House

Control your main equipment and video sources from any TV in the house.

One DVR, Pay TV, BluRay, Available Throughout Your HouseImagine you start an HBO movie or show in your family room, then pause the show on your DVR, get ready for bed,  then resume the show right where you left off in your bedroom.   Your bedroom remote controls the stop, pause, play, and all other functions of your DVR which is in the family room of your home.
Until now, sending video sources to other parts of your home was a technology only practical in costly custom a/v systems.   But the new BOCS low cost technology allows this kind of distribution in your home.
The BOCS system works best in one primary location for say your HDTV, a BluRay player and a cable box (with subscriptions and premium channels).  Then using just the special BOCS remote control, you can control your equipment from any alternate Standard TV’s.
Even a small kitchen TV can receive and control the DVR features or control the DVD in your main tv location.  The systems starts at just $450 installed with 2 remotes.
Additional remotes at $50 are all that is needed to make additional rooms work.
Also consider you can save money if you have one main cable or satellite box for your subscription channels.
Give us a call to learn more and to schedule your installation if this makes sense for you.

Vroom Central Vacuum device—even if your home does not have central vac!

Most homeowners who have Central Vacuum love their systems but find that for small cleanups, it is often easier to use a dust pan than to get out the tools.  That is where the brand new Vroom product comes in.  An exclusive new product development from Dirt Devil, the Vroom is a 25’ recoil style hose that fits in a small enclosure that typically mounts in your kitchen cabinet.  Simply open the door, gram the hose and pull it to clean up your dirt within 4 feet of the cabinet.    The system is an ad on attachment to an existing central vac system.  It generally is located in the same cabinet which currently houses your kick sweep inlet.  back to top
